A Home of Our Own
Kennel Info
After years being back in the New Orleans area I had a lot to consider and plan out. I did not want to leave Alaska when I did, I will always have left a part of my heart there and I needed to decide if I would or could go back without putting that love first instead of the overall quality of life for myself and the girls. After almost five year I knew that we belonged here for the foreseeable future and that meant that we deserved a home to call our own where the girls, any puppies, etc. would always have a home to call their own. So I started the search.
In November I got pre-approved for a home loan and started hunting. I saw a ton of houses in this general area - balancing distance from work and the city, flood zones, size, codes and policies in different neighborhoods, and everything else that you put into play when buying a house.
Somehow I kept coming back to this one home. and after seeing it and running through the math I put in an offer, we went back and fourth a bit and on Christmas Eve we came to an agreement. Over December and January all of the paperwork, inspections, and other details were worked through and today I closed on our new home.
While I was going through the process I also thought long and hard about how much of our new home we would share with you all, and I came to the conclusion that as a trainer and breeder I am already very easy to locate, follow, and many details of my life will never be private or easy to mask because of the opens I have had with clients, followers, and families for years. So you will end up being able to see not only our house as it is but our home, the place where I keep my girls safe, where they will grow and age, learn, fail, thrive, and live every aspect of their life. So I have added a page to our site and will be updating you all on the updates, changes, and set up of certain things around our home.
I may back date posts, share slowly, etc. but I hope that as we get farther into the process my journey, struggles, and successes may help other and also give individuals insight into just home much my life and home revolves around my dogs and those that come to visit us.
